Addiction & Alcohol Counseling

Life is About Relationships Overcoming Alcoholism and Addiction is About Relearning the Joys of Relationship and Connection.

“An Equal Opportunity Affliction”

Out of all the different roles I have as a San Diego Therapist, addiction counseling, alcohol counseling or codependency counseling are some of the most important. When the despair of a substance or process addiction weighs on a family’s heart, it is all too common to see broken relationships, the potential for divorce, and increasing depression. Other difficulties can include problems with work or school, legal issues, varying degrees of psychological difficulties and a myriad of health problems. Sadly, addictions can just as easily show up in our middle schoolers as in our spouse or our grandfather. This unfortunate equal opportunity affliction happily works with all races, genders, professions, all socio-economic classes, locations and religions. Whether alcohol counseling or drug addiction counseling, my job is to help you deal with it.

Discrete and Expert Guidance

When our lives are impacted by ongoing addictive disorders, the accompanying feelings of loneliness, shame, frustration, anger and despair can be overwhelming. This is part of why so many who struggle with alcoholism or other variations of addictions tend to hide them away – the underlying emotions tend to leave people sort of paralyzed. It is extremely important for anyone dealing with such serious conditions to know there is someone they can talk to who can provide the right combination of expertise and absolute privacy. I am a private practice psychotherapist specializing in treating chemical dependency and for over twenty-five years I have made it my business to offer very discrete, expert counseling and therapy regarding addictions and alcoholism to our community. You have come to the right place.

“That’s it, Enough is Enough”

Most who have dealt with addictions have done so for quite a while. However, every so often, something happens that is a little scarier, maybe worse than usual. Perhaps its just a feeling. Maybe find yourself saying something like “that’s it!” or “enough is enough”! Or, something might have happened – a DUI, a serious argument with a loved one, worsening depression or one of the countless other possible consequences. Likely, that is what led you to my website. Whether you are the one looking at how serious your use is or a family member of someone struggling with addiction, likely this is not the first time you have thought about taking to someone. This is such an important moment in time. Hope is just a phone call away. Really – I have worked with thousands of folks over the course of decades – I look forward to working together to find your solutions.
